The theme behind Landmark's user interface was the banners used in the game to claim territories. Players can build structures, mine the ground and harvest plants in their territories. For all these activities the use of banners were relevant for the gameplay. In this way the elements of the UI, both interactive and non-interactive, look like embroideries on the fabric.
